Early Years

During the three years of Early Years, from 2 to 5 years old, children are 100% immersed in the English language, concentrating on a holistic learning experience that integrates socio-emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Learning takes place in dynamic environments that promote play, discovery, and exploration.
Children begin to understand the world by asking. This process of inquiry begins by collecting data through the five senses.  Inquiry-based learning allows children to develop a sense of inquiry and understanding of the world surrounding them. (IBO 2009)
Mindfulness techniques are inserted in children’s daily routine as a way of fostering attention, concentration, and empathy. Robotics, a curricular activity beginning in Nursery,  provides experiences in which curiosity, inquiry, and creativity are explored by building with Lego Education sets.
Design Thinking, a curricular activity from Pre-kinder on, is an innovative proposal to think and solve problems by finding, in a playful and creative way, relevant solutions to diverse situations.
The IB Program for this stage in school, the PYP, is focused on children’s complete development, in touching hearts and minds, and encompassing social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs, besides promoting academic development.
